How does body sculpting work?
SculpSure uses targeted laser energy to permanently reduce unwanted fat cells. The FDA-approved technology sends controlled bursts of low-level heat to injure your fat cells. In time, the dead cells are swept away through your body’s own lymphatic system.

What should I expect before body sculpting treatment?
Dr. Attoussi reviews your medical history. He’ll typically calculate your body mass index (BMI), which allows him to determine whether body sculpting is right for you. You’re a good candidate for SculpSure if your BMI is 30 or under. Together, you’ll discuss your potential treatment areas and what you hope to achieve from body sculpting.
Dr. Attoussi will ask you about any medications you’re taking and may advise you to stop taking certain medications a few days before treatment. Ibuprofen and aspirin can thin your blood and increase your chances of bruising.
What should I expect during body sculpting?
Your treatment varies a bit depending on the areas you’re targeting. In general, you’ll either be seated or asked to recline in a comfortable position. Dr. Attoussi places the SculpSure instrument on your treatment area. For example, if you’re having fat removed from your stomach, the device may go around your waist like a belt. When treatment begins, the device delivers bursts of warm laser energy, followed by cooling therapy.
You can relax during the treatment. Although you may feel some tingling or pinching sensations during treatment, these sensations are generally mild. Your procedure is quick, usually 25 minutes per treatment area.
What should I expect after body sculpting?
Afterward, you can get back to your daily routine with little or no downtime. You may feel minor side effects, such as slight soreness or stiffness.
You’ll begin to see results in as soon as six weeks. You can expect to achieve optimal results 12 weeks after treatment, although results vary. Because each treatment eliminates about 25% of fat cells, Dr. Attoussi may recommend more than one session to achieve your desired results.
